During the 1960’s, Horst Tappe (1938-2003) started to photograph the leading figures of the arts and human sciences, mainly in black and white. Painters, actors, writers and musicians succeeded each other in front of his camera. Among them were the painters Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali and Oskar Kokoschka, the actors Peter Ustino, Sophina and Noël Coward, the writers Vladimir Nabokov, Ian Fleming and Harold Pinter, the conductors Pierre Boulez and Igor Stravinsky, the musician Pablo Casals... His archives are kept by the Foundation Horst Tappe in Morges (Switzerland).
