Ousmane Sow (1935-2016), Senegalese sculptor, in front of his sculpture of Genral de Gaulle nearing completion at the Coubertin foundry. In the line of Victor Hugo sculptures made in 2002, this sculpture is a part of a new series of monumental sculpture entitled "Merci" (Thank you), as a tribute to the great men that helped him not to give up hope on mankind.
