BORIS LIPNITZKI

A Russian photographer chronicling the 30s Paris.

After fleeing Ukraine in the 20s, the young Boris Lipnitzki settled in Paris as a photographer. He set up his own studio, where he worked for Chanel, Schiaparelli, Balenciaga… Celebrities from the world of the arts passed before his lens: Piaf, Joséphine Baker, Montand, Jouvet, Foujita, Picasso, Colette, Duras, Sartre… In less than twenty years, the immigrant became a celebrity.
The Galerie Roger-Viollet presents 76 numbered, limited-edition modern prints.

The Roger-Viollet Gallery welcomes you from Tuesday to Saturday
